  PSYCHIC OUTLAWRY

One of the ideas that I have the most fun with is the notion of being a psychic outlaw.  I mean, think about it, you have all these people running around yammering about karma crap and other such psuedo-spiritual nonsense and they think that everyone else is going to buy into it and follow their rules.  Then they get surprised.  There are folks that don’t.

Now what really makes this enjoyable is the knowledge that there isn’t a damned thing that they can do about it for a simple reason:  the dark side is more powerful.  You see it isn’t a matter of raw force, it is the ability to use it without compunction.

Let me give you an illustration of what I mean.  Years ago I was debating the utility, or lack thereof, of non-violence with a friend of mine.  I was getting nowhere so I said, “Let’s do this.  You are in a village and my tanks come in and take over.  What do you do?

She responded, “You can do anything you want to me, but I won’t co-operate with you.”

I laughed and said, “My troops won’t harm a hair on your head, but by co-operating with us, you will spare those children over there a great deal of unnecessary pain.”

Well, you should have seen the look on her face!  I thought she was going to pass out!   What had happened is that I had made an end-run around her value system.  She thought that I would play by her rules and instead I smashed them.

This is what outlaws do.  They break rules.  And if they do their job right they break those who will try to make them as well.  And that very ruthlessness gives the outlaw the advantage in psychic combat because the nice person has deep-seated compunctions that he cannot break, much as he may claim that he can.  They are buried so deep in his subconscious that rooting them out would take a lot of conditioning that would bring him over to our side in the process.  In that regard, psychic conflict is not like conventional warfare.  You can train a soldier to kill without violating his conscience, because in the end the physical activity acts as a barrier.  But the psychic realm has a censor that must be overcome in order for it to work at all.  The one who lacks that censor has the advantage.

And force in psychic matters is not evenly distributed.  It is rather simple for one good operator to totally defeat a group working against him.  So numbers are not that important.  In the spring of 1973 I took down an entire coven all by my lonesome and I did not have near as much to work with then as I do now, I didn’t even have a single radionic device.

So don’t be afraid of being an outlaw.  If you do your stuff right the do-gooders will fuss and fume, but they won’t be able to lay a finger on you.  And the more upset they get, the more power they feed into your workings.

And always remember the words of Lord Shang who said, “When you are willing to do that which others are ashamed to do, therein lies an advantage.”
